The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce said a woman fractured her wrists, a knee cap and suffered head trauma after she was thrown from a double ride sled. The ride was closed for inspection.
Officials with the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce say a person was thrown from coaster over the July 4th weekend.
Chris Cannon Director of Communications says a woman was the front passenger of a double ride sled and thrown from the sled. Cannon says the woman suffered fractures to both wrists, a knee cap, a wrist, head trauma and possible broken ribs. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Officials say the coaster was in proper working order at the time of the crash. It is now closed for inspection. The department is working with Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster to meet compliance requirements.
