Hillary Clinton and former Miss Universe Alicia Machado make case against Trump

Former Miss Universe Alicia Machado Introduces Hillary Clinton At Florida RallyThe former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, who came up in the first presidential debate, introduced Hillary Clinton at a campaign rally Tuesday in Dade City, Florida. Trump allegedly called her “Miss Piggy.”

“I was scared of him,” she said about Trump. “He made fun of me and I didn’t know how to respond. He told me that I looked ugly, and I was massive. He even called me names: Miss Piggy, Miss Housekeeping. Soon it became a joke: ‘Alicia Machado was the fat Miss Universe.’ I was sick for years fighting eating disorders.”

‘It’s clear, really clear that he does not respect women,’ Machado told a lively crowd in a critical part of the state.

‘He just judges us on our looks. He thinks he can do whatever he wants and get away with it,’ she continued. ‘Well, now I’m standing here on behalf of women and Latinos across the country.

Machado, who has become a U.S. citizen, said she’ll be casting her first vote for Clinton.

Describing her ordeal, she said: ‘Trump was overwhelming. I was scared of him. He made fun of me and I didn’t know how to respond. He told me that I looked ugly and I was massive. He even called me names. He said to me, Miss Piggy, Miss Housekeeping, Ms. Eating Machine.’

Clinton hammered Trump for staging a publicity stunt to get Machado to lose weight to be able to keep her crown.

She noted Trump has said Machado likes to eat. ‘Well who doesn’t?’ Clinton asked.

‘She was Miss Universe when Donald Trump owned the pageant. Well he said she put on some weight and it made him angry so he called her Miss Piggy,’ she said, basing her statement on Machado’s comments.

Although she focused on women’s issues, Clinton hit nearly all the highlights of her campaign’s opposition research on her rival, in a campaign that has turned into a slugfest of negativity.

She blasted him on his comments to ‘gold star’ parents, for not having the right ‘temperament’ to serve, and for being a danger if put in charge of the nation’s nuclear arsenal.

‘Do we want to round up millions of people who are here working, raising their families as he has suggested he will do?’ Clinton said.

‘I don’t think so. I think what we want is to bring them out of the shadows so that they can’t be exploited by employers like Donald Trump who refuse to hire Americans and hire undocumented workers so he can pay them less. I don’t think that’s right.’

She brought up Trump’s comments about Senator John McCain’s POW status, continuing with a list of Trump controversies.

‘Or maybe for some of you it’s what he said about a judge born in Indiana who just happened to be assigned the case brought by people who were defrauded by the phony Trump University,’ Clinton continued.
