ELMHURST, QUEENS – The 36-year-old woman appeared to have jumped off the track of the M train at the Elmhurst Avenue train station on Friday around 9 a.m. EDT, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said.
A woman in her 30s was fatally struck by a train just before 9 a.m. in Queens Friday, MTA and fire officials said.
She fell onto the tracks in front of a southbound M-train at the Elmhurst Avenue stop, fire officials said.
No identity has been released for the victim.
As a result of the incident, E, F, M and R train services were temporarily halted. Service has resumed, but extensive delays continue, according to the MTA.
