Reynoldsburg Apartment Complex Maintenance Building Destroyed in ExplosionREYNOLDSBURG, OHIO – The incident happened Thursday night at Century City Apartments, Chief Steve Hein said, adding that it may have been caused by a gas leak. No injuries were reported.

Crews are continuing to battle a fire at the Century City Apartments near Reynoldsburg.

Neighbors said they heard multiple explosions just after 9 p.m. Thursday before the fire broke out.

Witnesses said the roof of a maintenance shed caught fire and the roof flew off after one of the explosions.

Columbia Gas is on the scene but there is no word on what caused the explosion and fire.

According to Todd Hutchins, a spokesperson with Reynoldsburg Schools, people from the apartments are being bused to Herbert Mills Elementary School on Retton Road.
