PLYMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS – A barge carrying the fireworks caught fire on Monday, resulting in a simultaneous explosion. The Plymouth Police Department said that no injuries were reported.
The fireworks barge for the Plymouth, Mass. Fourth of July display caught fire Monday evening, cutting short the show.
There were two barges in the harbor for the fireworks show. A malfunction caused a fire on first barge and the second barge had another malfunction. However there were no injuries, according to a tweet from the Plymouth Police Department.

The incident occurred around 9:30 pm local time.
“We responded to a fire on the barge, there were no reported injuries,” said Battalion Chief Daniel Braley of the Plymouth Fire Department.
Video and photos of the scene appear to show all the fireworks on the barge go off at the same time, according to WFXT in Boston.
