YULEE, FLORIDA – Christopher “Adam” Nichols, owner of Adam Nichols Outdoor Services, died Saturday from injuries he sustained after a tree fell on him near a Scarlet Oaks Court residence, police said.
A father of two with twins on the way in Yulee, Fla. was crushed to death by a large pine tree he was cutting down in his backyard Saturday, authorities said.
Christopher “Adam” Nichols, 33, of Jacksonville, was a devoted husband and father to two boys with two babies on the way, according to his YouCaring page. His wife is 13 weeks pregnant. Click the link and you can donate to his family.
He owned his own tree trimming service and coached as well.
A case report filed by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office says that when deputies arrived they saw a witness performing CPR. When Nassau County Fire arrived, they continued trying to save Nichols – to no avail. He was pronounced dead on scene.
Upon investigation, detectives learned that Nichols was cutting down a pine tree when it began falling the wrong way. Nichols then pushed the tree, slipped and fell face down. The tree then fell on top of him.
