A US airport has been evacuated after a police officer was stabbed in the NECK by a knife-wielding suspect.
Witness of the Bishop Airport, claimed that he had seen the brave officer holding his neck on his knees deeply with blood, Source MLive.
The suspect was arrested and the travel center was placed on lockdown.
Detroit police has confirmed that the officer is in serious condition.
In addition to the injured policeman, there is no other injury reportedly as a result of the attack.
The police officer involved in this incident has been identified as Lieutenant Jeff Neville,
who retired from the Zense County Sheriff’s Department.
Sources told WJRT that Neville was at the top of the escalator at the airport on Wednesday morning when he was attacked from behind behind a knife similar to a Bowie knife.

Witness Ken Brown described seeing the officer holding his wound to MLive.
He said: “The cop was on his hands and knees bleeding from his neck. I said they need to get him a towel.”
Brown also said he saw the suspect being detained not far from the blade which was lying on the floor.

The statement read: “There has been an incident at the airport. An airport police officer has been injured.
“All passengers are safe and are being evacuated at this time. Please check with your airline for potential cancellations or delays. We will release more information as we have it.”
