Selena Gomez ‘feel sorry’ after Justin Bieber Deletes his Instagram Account

Selena Gomez 'feel sorry' after Justin Bieber Deletes his Instagram AccountAfter Bieber received backlash from fans for posting pictures with Sofia Richie, his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, defended his fans, and Bieber said she “used [him] for attention,” outlets reported.

Selena Gomez has taken a step back on her criticism of Justin Bieber and his recent behavior, but apologies may be too late.

The Come & Get It singer posted a short but contrite message on Snapchat late Monday night after Justin DELETED his Instagram account amid the exes heated social media exchange.

Selena took a more gentle tone as she wrote, ‘What I said was selfish and pointless,’ the words appearing in white print against a black background.

Whether Justin takes the message to heart and reinstates his Instagram page is anyone’s guess, and still up in the air after a weekend of sniping and back and forth accusations of cheating.

Selena, 24, clearly rubbed Justin, 22, the wrong way after she criticized his threats to quit Instagram over haters comments about his new flame, 17-year-old Sofia Richie.

He threatened to take his Instagram page private if fans didn’t curb the nasty comments about the model and the daughter of Lionel Richie.

But Justin took it a step further on Monday night as he deleted his Instagram account, which had 77.8 million followers.

The move came moments after the pop star had switched his account to private, before changing his mind and making his page public again moments later – and then deleting it entirely.

Setting the account private would have meant that his posts were still available for his followers, but he would have had to approve each individual follow request.

After setting the account to private, Justin was slammed by fans in comments, before he deleted it.

‘In the moment you went privat (sic) you lost many fans…’ wrote one user, while another added ‘and now we are leaving u.’

Another said the Sorry singer was making ‘bad decisions’, while others told him to just disable the comments if he didn’t want to deal with fans.

Justin seemed unperturbed by the row, looking happy and relaxed as he took part in an ice hockey match in the San Fernando Valley in California on Monday night.

Instagram users can temporarily disable their accounts, which lets them reactivate it at a later date. Or, they can permanently delete the account.

Justin’s move came after he asked fans to back off teenage model Sofia following some unpleasant comments on his Instagram posts of the two of them together.

He wrote: ‘I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.’

Out of the blue, his ex-girlfriend Selena took a swipe, exclaiming: ‘If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only. Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you.’

That prompted a war of words between the pop stars, with both accusing each other of cheating and Justin hinting Selena had hooked up with former One Direction star Zayn Malik.

Things quickly ignited as Justin hit back: ‘It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still trying to point the finger this way. Sad. All love. I’m not one for anyone receiving hate.’

The blows continued, with Selena posting: ‘Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love.’

This elicited the most shocking response yet from Bieber: ‘I cheated… Oh I forgot about You and Zayn?’ — apparently suggesting she had been unfaithful with the former One Directioner.

That same day, another player appeared to enter the row when another Justin ex, Hailey Baldwin, posted a cryptic message about ‘taking responsibility for actions’, ‘misplacing blame’ and trying to ‘manipulate a situation to make yourself look better’.

Soon after Hailey and Justin unfollowed each other on social media, even though she denied she was trying to get involved.

‘The only thing I “weigh in on” is everyday life in general. Don’t rope me into things I’m not a part of and please respect my privacy. x,’ she tweeted.

She also seemingly shared her own response to the drama, posting a cryptic Instagram message that advised: ‘The truth will always come to light, so it’s better to just own it.’

However, sources told People that she is ‘super upset’ after being unfollowed by Bieber.
‘Justin unfollowed Hailey on social media, and now all their friends are talking s*** on Sofia and him and how messed up it is,’ a source told the publication.

They added that although Justin and Hailey were ‘never officially a couple,’ their friends ‘knew they were together,’ and now they believe that Sofia made the Canadian crooner unfollow his ex.

Justin was reportedly upset with the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin back in May after she was briefly linked to Drake following his Memorial Day party.

Due to Justin’s feelings over the rumored pairing, the two reportedly ‘hadn’t been in touch in a bit,’ though the source noted: ‘But out of nowhere, Sofia apparently made him unfollow Hailey and now she and her friends are all super upset.’

Justin and Hailey had first been romantically linked after she joined him on a family vacation to St. Barts in December, during which they shared a series of loved-up photographs.
