“Excited to announce Sarah Paulson will be playing legendary Oscar-winner Geraldine Page in FEUD,” Ryan Murphy tweeted. The first season will be based on the feud between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis.
The most recent addition to Ryan Murphy’s latest anthology-style project,Feud, should not surprise you. After wowing everyone as Marcia Clark inAmerican Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson, Sarah Paulson will be joining in the (presumably) high-camp Old Hollywood fun.
I am so excited for this show that it’s embarrassing. I’m embarrassing myself.
The first season of Feud will trace the legendary enmity between screen legends Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. Ryan Murphy announced on Twitter that Paulson will be joining Susan Sarandon (Davis), Jessica Lange (Crawford), and Catherine Zeta-Jones (Olivia De Havilland). Paulson and Lange have previously worked with Murphy on American Horror Story.

Page racked up a host of Oscar nominations before finally winning in 1985 forThe Trip to Bountiful. Vanity Fair offers a clue as to how Page’s character might be involved:
Back in 1963, Davis was nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards for her turn in Baby Jane—which, of course, did not thrill Crawford, who struck a deal with the other nominees (including Page) to accept the award on their behalf, should they be absent. At the ceremony, as the award drew near, de Havilland accompanied Davis (her friend) backstage. But Anne Bancroft ended up winning the award instead, for her role in The Miracle Worker.
Very excited for a riveting scene depicting this scheming happening in a room absolutely filled with cigarette smoke, the only thing visible being incredibly GIF-worthy facial expressions.
