“When we first came out with it, everybody said, ‘Oh my God, how could Mo’Nique let that man do that to her’ … It was my idea,” Mo’Nique said on “The Preachers” with her husband.
Different strokes for different folks.
Comedian Mo’Nique details her open marriage to husband Sidney Hicks in a recent episode of the new church-based talk show, The Preachers.
In this clip, the Precious actress opens up about her decision to maintain an unconventional relationship.
While sharing the intricacies of their agreement, the Oscar-winning star proudly speaks up, revealing the non-monogamous union was all her idea, contrary to popular belief.
“There may be times I want to be with other men … I wanted to be open and honest with the person I was going to spend the rest of my life with,” she candidly reveals.
The mom of four also dispels nasty rumors that she choose to live openly in order to keep “this good looking man.”
The happy couple, who have been married for 10 years and share twin sons, say the atypical partnership simply means they have an open understanding for one another.
While totally on-board with the lifestyle choice, Mo’s hubby insists he’s not the controlling type, saying, “Who am I to tell her what she can and cannot do? Or who!”
Whatever works for you two is good with us, Mo!
