Margot Robbie Slap on Leonardo DiCaprio Won Her Wolf of Wall Street Role

Margot Robbie has been in hot demand ever since she made her big screen debut alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf Of Wall Street in 2013 and now director Martin Scorsese has revealed the ballsy stunt she pulled to land the role.

The Austrailian actress, who rose to prominence playing Donna on Neighbours, has cemented her status as a multifaceted force to be reckoned with a feature in Time’s 100 Most Influential People Of 2017.

The 26-year-old joins the likes of Melinda Gates, Ivanka Trump and Conor McGregor on the coveted list. In a glowing appraisal to accompany her appearance, Scorsese emphasised her hustler instinct by liking her to screen icons, Joan Crawford and Carole Lombard.

He went on to add that her ”grounded hardscrabble toughness” helped her land her role of Naomi Lapaglia, the feisty second wife of Jordan Belfort.

“Margot has all this in addition to a unique audacity that surprises and challenges and just burns like a brand into every character she plays,” the filmmaker continued.

“She clinched her part during our first meeting – by hauling off and giving Leonardo DiCaprio a thunderclap of a slap on the face, an improvisation that stunned us all.”

Since catapulting to fame, Robbie’s has starred in blockbusters including Focus, Suicide Squad and The Legend Of Tarzan. She can next be seen in thriller Terminal alongside Simon Pegg and Mike Myers.

She also enjoyed some success off screen with the launch of her own production company, LuckyChap Entertainment.

The actress who tied the knot with Tom Ackerley in December 2016, definitely has Scorsese’s vote of confidence. The legendary filmmaker added: “[Margot has] a unique audacity that surprises and challenges and just burns like a brand into every character she plays,” Scorsese wrote. “Margot is stunning in all she is and all she does, and she will astonish us forever.”
