But for Jennifer Aniston one death was so raw she could barely get though her introduction.
The actress choked up as she presented the melancholy montage, which did not have time to include the late Bill Paxton who tragically died just hours earlier.
‘Whether a Prince leading the musical revolution, or a princess leading a rebellion in a galaxy far far away,’ she began, with an obvious nod to Prince and Carrie Fisher.
‘Every one was a cherished member of our Hollywood family… as was beloved friend and actor who left us just yesterday, Bill Paxton,’ she tried to continue, before taking a second to compose herself.
‘Let us remember their lives and their beautiful work. All were loved, and all will be missed.’
