How Jennifer Aniston Reacts to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Divorce

He left her for Angelina Jolie in 2005.

Now friends say Jennifer Aniston sees the impending divorce of Brad Pitt and his second wife as ‘karma’ for what happened to her 11 years ago.

An insider told Us Weekly, Aniston commented on Tuesday after the split was revealed: ‘Yeah, that’s karma for you!’

The actress, 47, ‘admittedly feels sort of satisfied about Brad and Angelina’s split’ according to the insider.

The Post also reports that Jennifer knew the split was ‘just a matter of time.’

Friends of the star told the site: ‘Jennifer always knew that this day would come.

‘Everyone in Jennifer’s inner circle regards Angelina as a crazy master manipulator. But we all presumed the end of their affair would be Angelina leaving Brad for someone else.’

The source also said that Jennifer isn’t gloating about the divorce, despite the fact that Angelina reportedly stole Brad from her.

They continued: ‘Jen still cares about Brad and wishes him well. She has moved on and is really happy with Justin Theroux.’

Aniston and Pitt wed in 2000 and split in 2005, and while Jennifer has gone on to marry actor-writer Justin Theroux in 2015, her previous marriage to Brad remains a fascinating subject.

The two met in 1999 after being set up on a blind date by both their agents. After dating for two years the couple then got engaged and subsequently married in Malibu in 2000.

Aniston was still filming Friends when they were together. Brad even appeared as a guest star in season eight, episode nine of the show – The One With The Rumor.

Ironically Brad’s character, Will Colbert, hated her character Rachel Green for the special Thanksgiving episode.

In 2004 wax figures of Brad and Aniston were unveiled at Madame Tussauds in London, a few months before their separation.

In September of 2004 the couple were experiencing complications, which is when he started filming Mr And Mrs Smith with Angelina.

In January 2005 they publicly announced their separation.

Angelina filed papers on Monday citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and asking for physical custody of the couple’s six children – Maddox, age 15; Pax, aged 12; Zahara, aged 11; Shiloh, aged 10; and twins Vivienne and Knox, aged eight.

Jennifer spoke out about Brad and Angelina for the first time since her own split from the actor in a September 2005 interview with Vanity Fair.

‘Am I lonely? Yes. Am I upset? Yes. Am I confused? Yes. Do I have my days when I’ve thrown a little pity party for myself? Absolutely. But I’m also doing really well,’ Jennifer said.

She took issue with reports that she didn’t want children.

‘A man divorcing would never be accused of choosing career over children,’ Jennifer told Vanity Fair. ‘I’ve never in my life said I didn’t want children. I did and I do and I will.’

‘It’s just complicated,’ she went on. ‘There are all these levels of growth — and when you stop growing together, that’s when the problems happen.’

She was just as ‘shocked’ as everybody when pictures surfaced of Brad and Angelina and her then-three-year-old son Maddox on a beach in Africa.

‘The world was shocked and I was shocked,’ Jennifer said.

She also suffered when W magazine published a fashion spread that showed Brad and Angelina as a married couple with children, 1960s style (Brad’s concept) – before Brad and Jennifer’s divorce was final.

‘You joke and say, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,”‘ she lamented.

‘There’s a sensitivity chip that’s missing,’ Jennifer said of Pitt at the time. ‘But it’s not my life. He makes his choices. He can do – whatever. We’re (soon to be) divorced and you can see why.’

Jennifer spoke out about Brad and Angelina in a 2008 Vogue interview during which she said, ‘What Angelina did was very uncool.’

The harsh words were Jennifer’s reaction to Angelina revealing intimate details about her life with Brad in a 2007 interview with the same magazine.

‘There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening,’ Jennifer told Vogue writer Jonathan Van Meter, who had spoken to Angelina the year before.

Jennifer took Angelina’s description of the excitement she felt seeing her then-married co-star on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith to be a direct hit.

‘I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss,’ Aniston said.

‘I basically just answered it as honestly as I could,’ Aniston told Oprah Winfrey of that revealing Vogue interview not long after the magazine hit the newsstands.

She went on to gush about Brad, telling Oprah: ‘He’s done some amazing things in the last couple of years. So I just think he’s doing great.

‘We have exchanged a few very kind hellos and wishing you wells and sending you love and congratulations on your babies.’

Jennifer continued: ‘It’s funny when you hit a place in a relationship and you both realize, We maybe need to do something else, but you still really, really love each other. I deeply, deeply care about him; we talk, we adore one another. And that’s where it is.’

During a sit-down chat on CBS Sunday Morning in early January 2015, Jennifer said of her ex: ‘We’ve exchanged good wishes and all that sort of stuff to each other, but it’s not a constant thing.’

The Cake star took a more understanding approach to the whole ‘affair’ during a chat with The Hollywood Reporter later that month.

‘Nobody did anything wrong,’ the actress insisted. ‘But we wish nothing but wonderful things for each other. You know what I mean? It was just like, sometimes things [happen].’

She added: ‘We’re not in daily communication (but) if the world only could just stop with the stupid, soap-opera bulls**t. There’s no story. I mean, at this point it’s starting to become — please, give more credit to these human beings.’
