Honey G is Hijacked By Audience Member on X Factor Stage

She’s been a controversial act throughout X Factor.

But Saturday night’s show almost descended into chaos as pranksters stormed the stage in an apparent attempt to remove Honey G’s trademark hat and glasses.

Simon Cowell was seen looking horrified as the camera stayed off-stage during the kerfuffle, while the judging panel attempted to remain calm.

The third act to perform was controversial contestant Honey G, Sharon’s second Overs act, with You Can’t Touch This by MC Hammer.

Showing off her dance moves alongside a large group of background dancers, Honey G matched her trademark cap to her trousers, finishing her performance to cheers from the panel.

Suddenly, Simon Cowell leapt up in horror and a security guard was seen running to assist as an audience member stormed the stage.

The camera zoned in on the panel and Nicole was seen looking equally shocked, while Louis and Sharon tried to distract from the goings-on onstage.

Behind the scenes chaos ensued as several audience members attempted to storm the stage and remove Honey’s cap and glasses – one grabbing the microphone – but thankfully the situation was quickly dealt with.

After their attempt to unmask her failed, the camera returned to the stage, Honey G appeared composed and the panel took their seats appearing shell-shocked.

‘I’m so sorry about that,’ Simon reassured before adding, ‘at one point I thought it was part of the act’.

‘See, you drive people wild with excitement!’, Sharon laughed as the panel settled back down.

Dermot added: ‘We had a stage invasion, three punks thought they could come on and take on Honey G. Nah, I don’t think so.’

And Simon added: ‘Forget that. You’ve got a second song. Don’t let that bother you. Come back believing you are a star.’

However some eagle-eyed viewers branded the stage invasion a fix, claiming they spotted a production member pushing the person on stage.

‘Fix Factor back at it again’, one viewer tweeted, as another implied the show was attempting to gather more coverage, writing: ‘How pathetic, to organise a stage gatecrash.’

An X Factor spokesperson told MailOnline:  ‘There was a stage invasion by four men, with one further person in support. All five had been in the audience. They were spoken to by police and security and have now been removed from the studio.’

One of the men was identified as convicted criminal Daniel Jarvis, an internet prankster from Gravesend, Kent, who has served time behind bars.

The 27-year-old is part of a group of YouTube pranksters called TrollStation who staged a fake art heist, sparking a stampede at one of Britain’s biggest galleries.

The men involved in the prank were jailed for a combined total of 72 weeks earlier this year.

Just one week after the Tunisian beach massacre in June, the men ran through both the National Portrait Gallery and the Tate Modern in London with tights pulled over their heads.

They later uploaded the videos to their YouTube channel, which has more than 700,000 subscribers and has had more than two million views.

Jarvis, 27, Endrit Ferizolli, 20, Ebenezer Menzah, 29, and Helder Gomes, 23, were jailed after pleading guilty to two counts of using threatening behaviour.

Following the group’s arrest for the gallery stunt, Jarvis, of Gravesend, Kent, was jailed for 20 weeks.

Jarvis had previous convictions for invading the pitch at a football match between Tottenham Hotspur and Partizan Belgrade in November 2014 and trying to take photos with players, the court heard.

Despite the kerfuffle, Honey G is still the favourite to get the boot from the X Factor this week, according to William hill. She is 2/5 to be eliminated on Sunday with Emily Middlemas the 9/2 second favourite.
