‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Fans Petition to Have Jesse Williams Fired From Series Over BET Awards Speech

'Grey's Anatomy' Fans Petition to Have Jesse Williams Fired From Series Over BET Awards SpeechThe petition, which has about 1,600 signatures, said Jesse Williams “spewed a racist, hate speech against law enforcement and white people at the BET awards.” A counter-petition has over 11,000 signatures.

White tears are real ya’ll and this case, completely laughable.

Apparently, Jesse Williams’ powerful and moving BET Awards speech has a number of white folks caught in their feelings so hard that a Change.Org petition was created to get the actor fired from his day job over at Grey’s Anatomy.

The petition, created by someone named Eric Williams and signed by only 370 people, claims that Williams’ speech was “racist” and he should be punished for his “hate speech.”

“Jesse Williams spewed a racist, hate speech against law enforcement and white people at the BET awards. If this was a white person making the same speech about an African American, they would have been fired and globally chastised, as they should be, but there has been no consequences to Williams’ actions. There’s been no companies making a stand against his racist remarks and no swift action condemning his negative attitude. Why was Burke’s character fired from Grey’s Anatomy after his inappropriate homophobic slur, but nothing for Jesse Williams? Why the one-way street? Why the support for a hater? Why the hypocrisy? #AllLivesMatter  All humans bleed the same color. #EqualConsequences4RacistBehavior”

Boy Bye! Shonda and ABC are NOT listening to this.

One of these days, folks are gonna learn that speaking out about racism and inequality doesn’t make someone racist. Sigh. Jesse, you just keep doing you boo.
