Ben Affleck Responds to Rant About of His ‘Deflategate’ Comments

Ben Affleck Responds to Rant About of His 'Deflategate' Comments“I gave exactly 18 f—s about my Pats…One of my favorite interviews,” Ben Affleck said on Facebook and Twitter. He criticized the NFL and Roger Goodell over Deflategate on HBO’s “Any Given Wednesday.”

In a wild interview with fellow Boston native Bill Simmons in the debut of Simmons’ HBO show “Any Given Wednesday,” Affleck, 43, looked ready to angrily squeeze the air out of a football himself during an expletive-laden rant about the NFL controversy involving his beloved New England Patriots.

After the internet had a bit of a field day with the new Caped Crusader’s fiery appearance on the show, Affleck chimed in with a lighthearted response on Twitter Thursday.

The debate over whether New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady intentionally deflated footballs during a playoff game in 2015 continues to drag out in various court rulings and appeals.

“DeflateGate is the ultimate bulls**t f**king outrage of sports, ever! It’s so f**king stupid that I can’t believe it,” the fired-up Pats fan fumed to Simmons on Wednesday’s show.

“I talk to f**king football players, pro football players. Across the board they think it’s bulls**t. (They) haven’t done anything to address this crisis of domestic violence in the NFL, but the f**king football better not be eight percent lighter,” Affleck raved.

During a calmer part of the interview, the “Batman vs. Superman” star also discussed a point in the early 2000s when he felt his career had bottomed out.

“I was the lowest rung of cool and talented that you could possibly be in the public consciousness,” he said. “I had broken up with Jennifer Lopez and I had three or four movies in a row that bombed.”

At one point he got on a plane and saw a comedy routine by Robert Wuhl mocking him.

“He did a whole bit about me that I saw on United Airlines once, and I was like, ‘Well this it! It really doesn’t get much worse than this,'” Affleck said. “And that was kind of where I found myself when I thought, ‘Hey, I want to take up directing.'”
