Ashley Judd announced her decision to go back to school Monday on Facebook Live. “I have decided to take the next step in my academic journey … I’m very esteemed and honored they’ve accepted me,” she said.
The end of summer is here, and Ashley Judd is getting ready to head back to school.
On Monday, the actress revealed that she recently enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley, and will start classes this fall to work her way toward a PhD in public policy.
Judd shared the news with fans in a Q&A session during a Facebook Live.
“I have decided to take the next step in my academic journey,” Judd said. “Sometimes I’m really excited, sometimes I’m like ‘What have I gotten myself into?!’ I’m very esteemed and honored that they accepted me.”
She said that she wants to “make the best of her time at Berkeley,” and shared that the school typically only accepts two or three candidates per year.
“It was ultra-competitive and I know that talented and virtuous, well-meaning, smart people from all over the world applied,” she said.
Judd already has an undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in gender equality from Harvard.
